Original Name: Myra Belle Shirley
Myra Belle Shirley was born in Missouri on a small farm who received an education, unlike most girls, and was trained to be a pianist. Her father owned a business putting her family in the middle class. Myra's family was well respected, though she lived a boring life, it was easy going and nice living. Like many families during this time period, the Civil War came and turned her life upside down. The Civil War claimed her brother's life and forced the family to migrate to Texas in order to survive do to the loss of her father's business. From there the life of Belle Starr began.
Belle Starr was a fanciful piece of history that played up every part of her existence. She did declare herself the "bandit queen" do to her love of breaking the law and dressed to the part. She wore extravagant dresses, hats, and shoes to show off to others that she was the one and only "bandit queen" and you didn't want to mess with her.
Belle Starr later died in Oklahoma with two shotgun blasts to the back. No one is certain who murdered the legend, yet it is to be believed that it was a feuding neighbor who ambushed her.
